The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) is the national trade association that represents the biodiesel industry and serves as the coordinator for biodiesel research and market development in the United States.

The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) is the national trade association that represents the biodiesel industry and serves as the coordinator for biodiesel research and market development in the United States. Its membership is primarily made up of feedstock producers and processors, soybean commodity boards, biodiesel suppliers, and fuel marketers and distributors.

Made from an increasingly diverse mix of resources such as recycled cooking oil, soybean oil and animal fats, biodiesel is the first and only EPA-designated Advanced Biofuel that is produced on a commercial scale across the U.S. It is produced in nearly every state in the country and is used in existing diesel engines without modification.

av 日本All major OEMs producing diesel vehicles and equipment for the U.S. market support at least B5 (five percent biodiesel blended with 95 percent petroleum diesel) and lower blends, and nearly 80 percent of U.S. manufacturers now support the use of B20 or higher biodiesel blends in at least some of their equipment. The biodiesel component must meet ASTM D6751, the approved standard for pure biodiesel, and the B20 blends must meet ASTM D7467 specifications. Many OEMs also recommend the use of a supplier certified under the biodiesel industry’s rigorous quality control program, BQ-9000.
